Privacy Policy

Bday Reg (bdayreg.com) is operated by Honey Badger Labs LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use Bday Reg and what we do with it.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name and email address, and a hashed password if you sign up with email. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
  • Registry content: the registries, gift items, dates, descriptions and thank-you notes you create.
  • Guest activity: when guests view a shared registry they may leave a name with a comment, mark a gift as purchased, or record a group-gift contribution.
  • Usage data: we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, and actions such as adding a gift to a registry). Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. Some of these measurements (sign-ups, new registries, gifts added) are sent from our servers, linked to the same anonymous analytics cookie ID, never to your name or email. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

How we use it

We use this information to run your registries, let you sign in, show your registry to the people you share it with, keep the service secure, and improve the site. We do not sell your personal information.

Sharing

  • People you share with: anyone with your registry's share link can see that registry. Shared registries are not listed in search engines.
  • Service providers: Google Cloud hosts the site and its database; Google provides sign-in and analytics. They process data on our behalf.
  • Legal reasons: we may disclose information if the law requires it.

Affiliate links

Gift guides and some registry items link to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, Bday Reg earns from qualifying purchases. When you follow one of these links, Amazon may set cookies under its own privacy notice to credit the referral. We don't receive your Amazon account or order details.

Cookies and your choices

We use a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in and Google Analytics cookies to measure usage. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Keeping or deleting your data

We keep your account and registries until you delete them. Deleting a registry removes its items, comments and notes. To delete your account entirely, email us and we will remove it.

California residents

We don't sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act. You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing the address below.

Children

Bday Reg accounts are for adults. Parents may create registries for their children's birthdays; we don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
